Original 1850s Native American Indian Print

“PLAIN BETWEEN THE SAN JOAQUIN AND KING’S RIVERS”

In contrast to the Navajos shown on horseback, this print shows an alert and vigorous Indian on his strong stead surveying his domain between the San Joaquin and King's Rivers. This print was from the California portion of the survey to find the best route for the transcontinental railway and as noted on the bottom margin this lithograph comes from a sketch by Charles Koppel and was lithographed by A. Hoen & Company of Baltimore.

The print is matted to a standard frame size of 11 x 14 inches so you can avoid the expense of custom framing and it comes in a protective clear plastic bag, as shown below with the light reflection.
