This powerful and colorful hawk is looking directly at you! This great bird of prey was published in 1859 with the transcontinental railroad report Volume X. On the upper margin of the print it says "U. S. P. R. R. Exp & Surveys --- 32nd Parallel (East)" and Birds --- Plate XIV."
