"A Genuine Plan of Cherburg with the Fortification as intended to be finished according to the Design of Mr de Caux."
The map is of the city on the coast of France with the modern spelling of Cherbourg. The close-up below shows an area outside the city labeled "Suburbs" the earliest reference I have seen of the use of that term on a map, but the first recorded usage, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, comes from Wycliffe in 1380, where the form "subarbis" is used.
