Invitation That Came With Tickets

    This invitation to the 1961 inaugural activities for John F. Kennedy as President and Lyndon B. Johnson as Vice President is the invitation that came with a ticket to the inauguration. At the bottom left corner it states, "Please present the enclosed card of admission."  It is thus rarer than the more common invitations that went out to the general public and were distributed as souvenirs. The more common invitations state Kennedy's and Johnson's names and this one does not. This one is two pages, not one like the other invitations, in order to hold the tickets and information between front and back page.
