President William H. Taft Official United States Mint Inaugural Medal

This is a United States Mint bronze medal commemorating the 1909 Inauguration of William H. Taft as President of the United States.  Taft subsequently lost his reelection bid when faced with both his predecessor Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson in the general election contest.  Taft went on to become Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court.
