History of the Great Rebellion

Published in Hartford, Connecticut in 1865 by L. Stebbins, the year the war ended. Spine with gilt lettering and blind-tooled fillets, cover with blind-tooled borders. 4to Illustrated with a tissue-guarded steel-engraved portrait of Abraham Lincoln, 39 tissue-guarded steel-engraved plates and 13 maps showing all the important military points. 778 pages.  Most of the pages with tissue guards for the steel engraving are foxed, including the title page which is opposite the Lincoln frontpiece engraving, but the text is not, as shown below is largely devoid of foxing.

There are lots of great engravings and maps to illustrate the extensive text.

Pictured above is a different volume than I have available. The one I am selling has a bit less foxing on the engravings and the binding and text are in the same condition.
